Sharpest Tool is a Toronto-based, Queer and Trans-operated tattoo studio that centers community, safety, and care. We are a private, appointment-only tattoo space that prioritizes COVID-conscious practices and equity for both clients and artists.
Our Queer-friendly approach
We believe all tattoo experiences should take place in an affirming, judgement-free environment, where everyone—especially 2SLGBTQIA+ and racialized folks—can feel safe in their bodies while receiving high-quality tattoo work.
We also believe in creating a space that empowers artists. We operate on a functionally non-profit model, we share the cost of the studio and upkeep, and artists keep the full value of their work. No commissions. No exploitation. Just art, care, and mutual respect.

When it’s time to visit, we’re conveniently located a short walk from Lansdowne station. Limited street parking is available nearby.
Sharpest Tool is a private, appointment-only studio. We do not take walk-ins. Please contact one of our artists before visiting.

How do I book a tattoo appointment?
Appointments at Sharpest Tool are scheduled with our artists directly. Browse our artist portfolios and use the booking link on their respective pages to start a conversation about your next tattoo project.

How much does a tattoo cost?
Sharpest Tool does not mandate any kind of pricing model, so tattoo artists decide their own prices. Contact your preferred tattoo artist with your idea to get an estimate and/or hourly rate.
Do you do custom tattoos?
All tattoo artists at Sharpest Tool offer custom designs for tattoos in addition to pre-drawn (also know as flash) designs. We suggest you browse our artist portfolios to find the tattoo artist whose style works best for your tattoo project.
Do you take walk-ins?
We are an appointment-only private studio, so unfortunately we cannot offer walk-ins. Please contact your preferred tattoo artist to schedule a consultation or tattoo appointment.
We occasionally host flash days, where we may offer limited walk-in slots, but those will be publicly announced on our instagram page.
How do I prepare for my first tattoo?
Your tattoo artist will provide personalized guidance ahead of your appointment, but we advise tattoo clients ensure they are well-fed, well-rested, and hydrated for best healing results and a more comfortable experience.
Sharpest Tool is a COVID-conscious tattoo shop, and masks are mandatory during the tattoo appointment. This keeps our studio safer for clients and artists, and especially those who are immunocompromised.
Please inform your tattoo artist if you are feeling sick or having any skin issues in the area you’re hoping to have tattooed.
